Admission Requirements:

• • Pre-requisites:

    • English (2 Semesters).
    • Inorganic Chemistry with a lab (2 Semesters).
    • Organic Chemistry with a lab (2 Semesters).
    • Physics with a lab (2 Semesters).
    • Biology/Zoology with a lab (2 Semesters).
    • Mathematics (2 Semesters).

  • Citizenship:

    The applicant must be a permanent resident or a citizen of the US. Also, the applicant must not have a felony explanation on his/her AMCAS application.

  • Casper:

    All the applicants applying to FAU Medical School are required to complete a mandatory online 90-minute computer-based test (CASPer). This test is necessary to assist with the college’s selection process. The applicants are required to complete the CASPer test successfully to maintain the admission eligibility.

  • MCAT:

    The applicant is required to submit the MCAT scores for the successful completion of his/her application. The applicant is required to take the MCAT before September of the year he/she is planning to take admission in the college. Moreover, the scores should not be more than 3 years old.

  • Letters of Recommendation:

    The applicant is required to submit a letter of recommendation from the pre-health committee or pre-health advisor. Otherwise, the college requires three letters of recommendation out of which two letters should be from science professors and one letter from either a science or non-science professor.

Application Process:

• • AMCAS Application: The applicants are required to begin their admission process by completing an online AMCAS application. Moreover, the applicant must designate FAU Medical School as a college that they want their applicants to be sent to.

  • Secondary Application: Once the college will verify the AMCAS Application, it will send an email to fill out a secondary application to the qualified candidates. Moreover, the applicants will be asked to pay a non-refundable application fee of $30.

  • Screening:

    All the completed applications that will include all the required documents will be reviewed and scored by an internal team of the college. This process is known as a screening process and the qualified candidates will be sent an interview invite from the college.

  • Interview:

    The qualified candidates will then be invited for an interview where they will have two 30-minute interviews to be conducted by members of the College of Medicine. One interview will be evaluative and exploratory whereas the other one will be situation-based.

  • Admission Decision:

    The Admissions Committee uses a rolling process to finalize the admission decision. Once the Admissions Committee will receive the application materials, the applicants will receive one of the three results; accepted, not accepted, or placement on the alternate list.

• • GPA: The minimum requirement for the GPA is 3.00 (on a scale of 4.00).

• Campus Recreation:

  Florida Atlantic University offers Campus Recreation facilities to its students. The primary objective of the Campus Recreation is to create movement and engagement opportunities to increase both the physical and social wellbeing of the FAU’s community. The Campus Recreation serves the faculty/staff, students, and community members. Outdoor Adventures include gear rentals, challenge course programming, outdoor trips, Camp Owls, and a climbing center.

• Housing & Residential:

  Florida Atlantic University offers on-campus housing to its students. Some of the facilities include utilities, cable, WIFI, and laundry. The college believes that those students who live on-campus are more likely to focus on their studies than those who don’t. Moreover, walk to class, the library, or the stadium is just a matter of minutes when you’re living on-campus. Furthermore, the facilities also include fully-furnished rooms, reserved residential student parking, and 24-Hour security plus on-campus police department. Also, on-campus housing allows the students to connect to peers and faculty, and get involved with campus activities.
