The Institute came into being after Sir Robert Grant, who became governor of Bombay in 1834, saw the lack of medical expertise among Indians. Eligibility Criteria for Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals (GMCJJH)

The following is the eligibility criteria for those applying for MBBS for Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals (GMCJJH) admission:

• It is required for the applicant to have Indian citizenship.
• The applicant must not be married.
• The minimum age of applicants is 17 years. For B.Sc. holders, the applicant must not be more than 24 years.
• Applicants must have 10+2 years of education from a recognized board or equivalent system.
• Applicants must pass the required exams which include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects. Mathematics is compulsory in the 10th standard.
• Applicants must obtain 60% marks in aggregate in Physic, Chemistry, and Biology and score 50% mark in each subject individually.

Admission criteria:

Admission Criteria for MBBS

Applicants for MBBS are required to pass the NEET test in order to participate in the Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals (GMCJJH) admission process, those not qualifying for NEET will not be able to get into the university. The final MBBS merit list is based on the total score obtained in the test.

Admission Criteria for BSc Nursing

Applicant must complete 10+2 years of education from a recognized board or equivalent system along with three years of Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery and a minimum of two years’ experience of nursing. The applicant must have no less than 50% aggregate marks in all subjects and must pass all the examinations on the first attempt.

Admission Criteria for MHA

The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Technology, Medical, Dental, and Agriculture or in any other professional courses from a recognized Indian university.

Admission Criteria for M.Sc.

Applicants must have completed B.Sc. in the prerequisite of the applying course.

Admission Criteria for M.Ch

The applicant must have completed his/her graduation from a recognized institute.

Admission criteria for M.S. (Master of Surgery)

The applicant must have done his/her graduation from a recognized institute.
