Rutgers New Jersey Medical School History

Having first been registered in 1954, NJSM by 1968 through state officials meeting with community representatives considered a move to Newark. The agreements were set and the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry purchased some land in Newark. The construction of interim facilities began including providing the city with public-sector healthcare services, furthermore emphasizing recruiting minority students all the while providing employment opportunities for the neighboring people. By 1969 the move was complete and in 1971 NJMS took in their firth batch at 113 total with 28 being minority students. By 1977 the Newark hospital construction began as well. Through the years the hospital and university merged further becoming the second school in the US to host a White Coat Ceremony. All the while catering to the needs of the growing Latino Community in Newark. By 2007, 122 faculty-physicians made the prestigious New Jersey Monthly’s Top Doctors List. By 2009 along with celebrating its 55th anniversary – 42 NJMS faculty members were listed in New York Magazine as Best Doctors and continues to grow stronger to date.

I'm grappling with my online studies in Infectious Disease at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. It's made me realize what a visual learner I still am. So these vids are making what was murky crystal clear. While I am easily distracted when I have to do hours of straight reading, I am glued to the videos. I've looked for a series of such videos for months. A million thanks - Dr Najeeb has a true passion for teaching and can convey highly complex topics in an understandable and fun way.
