Located 45 minutes west of Boston in New England’s second-largest city, the University of Massachusetts Medical School offers rigorous health science programs in three graduate schools. The Medical School, the Biomedical Science Graduate School, and the Nursing Graduate School. The medical school is ranked nationally in the top one percent for student satisfaction. Accreditations

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) offers accreditation services for more than 2000 public and private institutions in the 6-state region. Emanating from high-quality standards, NEASC accreditation makes use of self-reflection, peer review and best practices as essential components of its evaluation process and tracks the follow-up efforts that lead to the continuous development of the school/program. NEASC consists of six committees, each setting standards for a specific segment of the educational community. UMass Medical School is accredited by NEASC.

UMass Medical School has an accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The school is in the re-accreditation process with the Steering Committee, nine LCME Subcommittees, and an Independent Student Analysis Subcommittee. Admission Procedure for university of massachusetts medical school

Requirements

The courses required are listed below. In an approved US or Canadian college, international students applying for the post-graduate school must complete the required courses.
Post-Baccalaureate Program in Biomedical Sciences Degree in Biomedical Sciences (Master’s, PhD) Quantitative Reasoning: One course in calculus or statistics (biostatistics preferred).

Required Courses

General Biology or Zoology (with lab) for 2 semesters or 1 year.
General Physics (with lab) for 2 semesters or 1 year.
English composition, literature or writing intensive course for 2 semesters or 1 year.
Calculus (Pre-calculus is notconsidered an acceptable substitution for this requirement) for 1 semester.
Statistics for 1 semester.
Required Chemistry Sequences: Applicants may meet the chemistry requirement in one of the following ways:

Eligibility Criteria for university of massachusetts medical school

The selection for admission is determined by a committee consisting of representative faculty members and medical students. When evaluating the credentials of each applicant by the committee, a number of factors are carefully considered and in selecting a matriculating class that will represent a wide and diverse range of individuals, backgrounds, and interests. These considerations include, but are not limited to the following:

Past academic achievement.
Quality and nature of scholastic training.
Standardized test results (MCAT).
Service tasks that show the ability to work in a helping capacity with people.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate school in the United States or

Canada.

DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) status of U.S. citizenship, permanent resident or accepted.
Factors that contribute to class diversity, including, but not limited to, socio-economic background, background in education, work experience, nationality, languages spoken, ethnicity, race, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

UMass Medical school library offers these services

The books are issued to Interns, Postgraduate Students, Research Scholars, and Faculty Members. Bound/unbound journals, audio-visual materials, and CD-ROMs are for in-house use only. The Library staff assists users to locate the needed information from the available information resources. Based on the collection, users are provided service by the library. Through the photocopy services library provides photocopies of articles from journals and books to the users as and when requested further users can also send and receive Fax messages from the library. The Lamar Sutter Library also offers copyright resources, data management, NIH public access policy, open access, research impact, clinical resources portal, evidence-based medicine, house librarians and liaisons, library instruction, writing systematic reviews.
