Campus and Location of Yale University:

Yale has three campuses as following:

Yale College: Situated at Downtown New Haven. Comprising of Undergraduate residential colleges, Graduate School of Arts and Science, Professional Schools and Library facilities.
Yale University Athletic fields: Situated two miles from Downtown Haven. Comprising of Yale’s Central, Medical and Athletic campuses.
Yale West Campus: Situated 7 miles West of Downtown New Haven. Comprising of Yale School of nursing, Institute for Preservation of Cultural Heritage and state-of-the-art facilities for interdisciplinary research and sciences.

Yale School of Medicine offers numerous degree and joint degree programs. The majority of students at the school earn a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, with about 20% of these students earning a joint MD/Ph.D. degree.

PA Programs:

Yale has two pathways for aspiring Physician Assistants: the Physician Associate Program, which is based on the Yale campus, and the Physician Assistant Online Program, which combines online coursework, clinical rotations in students’ home communities, and three separate week-long immersions on the Yale campus. Both programs award an MMSC degree.

Eligibility Criteria for Yale University:

It is recommended that students enter medical school after four years of studying in a College of Arts and Sciences. The students must meet all of the premedical requirements specified below, and it is also recommended that they should have taken some recent high-level science courses:

Attendance for three academic years, or the equivalent, at an approved college of arts and sciences or institute of technology.
Satisfactory completion of the following courses, including laboratory work:

General Biology or Zoology (2 semesters)
General Chemistry (2 semesters)
Organic Chemistry (1 semester)
General Physics (2 semesters)
Biochemistry (1 semester)

Admission Criteria:

Admissions to the students are given based on d the decision made by Committee evaluations that focus on:

Recommendations from pre-medical committees and individual science teachers

Each cost in the above-allocated list is paid every year. Medical Expense is not included in the total fees.

Application Process:

To apply to MD/Ph.D. (traditional) programs, students must fulfill the following requirements:

AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service) application:

This application will be sent to all the medical schools to which the candidate applies. On the AMCAS application, you must indicate that you plan to apply to Yale School of Medicine.

Yale Supplement Application:

All applicants will be invited by email to submit a Yale Secondary Application after submitting the AMCAS application. This email invitation should arrive within one week of submitting the AMCAS application to Yale (beginning in late July when the Yale Secondary Application goes live).

For Non-Traditional Ph.D. Programs:

In addition to AMCAS and Supplement application, they also have to submit the following additional materials:

Anthropology: Personal statement of purpose; writing sample (20-30 pages); up to three letters of recommendation that speak to aptitude and preparation for the Ph.D.
Economics: GRE score; up to three letters of recommendation that speak to aptitude and preparation for the Ph.D.
History of Science and Medicine: Personal statement of purpose; writing sample (20-30 pages); up to three letters of recommendation that speak to aptitude and preparation for the Ph.D.
Sociology: Personal statement of purpose; writing sample (20-30 pages); up to three letters of recommendation that speak to aptitude and preparation for the Ph.D.

Facilities Offered:

Library:

The physical and digital collections of the Yale University Library, along with the library’s numerous buildings and spaces for study and research, are among the University’s greatest and most important academic assets. Library access and privileges are provided to all registered undergraduates. The University identification card is required to enter most libraries either at all times the library is open or during specified hours. The staff in each library is prepared to give assistance in the use of that library and to explain its rules and regulations.

Technology:

Students are facilitated with the latest computers for their academic use. Students using Yale’s computer network are required to observe federal and state copyright laws, which regulate such activities as accessing, downloading, copying, uploading, and distributing copyrighted material. Copyrighted material commonly includes, among other works, books, songs, music, films, photographic images, and videos. Students with authorized access to technology facilities are subject to the rules and should acquaint themselves with them.

Housing facility:

There are three housing campuses as follows:

On-campus housing is guaranteed to first-year students and sophomores, for whom residence is required. Housing is generally available for all who request it, but availability is not guaranteed.
Off-Campus Housing. Juniors and seniors are ordinarily permitted to live off-campus; however, the residential college head or dean may require a student to remain on campus in unusual circumstances. The University assumes that students have notified their parents or guardians of their housing plans.
Mixed-Gender housing. Yale has adopted the option of a mixed gender suite.
Students in their first four terms of enrollment must live on campus unless they are married or are at least twenty-one years of age on the first day of classes.

Yale Health Service:

The Yale Health Center is located on campus at 55 Lock Street. The center is home to Yale Health, a not-for-profit, physician-led health coverage option that offers a wide variety of health care services for students and other members of the Yale community. Services include student health, gynecology, mental health, pediatrics, pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, a seventeen-bed inpatient care department, around-the-clock care clinic, and specialty services such as allergy, dermatology, orthopedics, and a travel clinic.

Dining Service:

All undergraduates must present their University identification cards to access any Yale dining hall. Upon entering a dining hall, students present their University identification cards for electronic scanning. All resident students are required to have a meal contract. First-year students are required to have the Full Meal Plan but may upgrade to the optional Anytime Meal Plan. Upper-level resident students may choose the Anytime Meal Plan, the Full Meal Plan, or the Any-14 Meal Plan. Students who have a dining contract are required to pay the charge of the contract until the end of the term.

Events:

Social functions such as meetings, dances, parties, and conferences are a valuable part of student life. To make a positive contribution, we conduct them on and off. Outdoor events are also held.

Your level of joy must be breaking through the roof. Today, you have all the reason in the world to be super proud of yourself. You made it and you made it huge my friend. Your studies, your books, the syllabus, the curriculum will be quite different from your domestic studies. But it’s okay. After all, what are we here for? So stay with us and let’s do this:

Manage everything:

The moment you take your first step in the college, you will be burdened with things you have never faced before. Where your classes are, what the schedule is, what books to acquire, where is your room? So make sure to call someone at the campus and ask for all the information you need so that there is no hassle later on. Make sure to have a small diary with you to write little notes about important things. Your first few days will be quite tough because the lecturers will be telling you their teaching style and how they mark your exam so make sure to write them down. These things won’t come up again. Yale is full of activities and sports and let’s not forget about their famous Bulldogs (football team). So make sure to participate. This is once in a lifetime chance. You will make a schedule of your classes and practice on the field timings to help you remember and manage everything properly. Develop a timetable that you can easily follow and can be managed in which there is time for studies as well as fun.
